CLUB REPORT 2017-2018

CLUB INAUGURATION

Date    : 27 July 2017

Venue :San Jose Seminar Hall

Time   :  4.30 PM – 5:30 PM

     The “EIDS- Enhance Intelligence Develop Skills” of 2017-2018 was initiated by Mrs. P. Nancy Vincentina Mary, Head Department of BCA. The main motive of the club “EIDS” is to empower the skills and to build a healthy relationship among the students. This is a good platform to expose talents and to mould our personality. The inaugural address was given by Dr. Prathap Sethu, Director of win win consultancy. He motivated us with his own experience which made us to empower ourselves. His speech invoked our hidden talents and it was thought provoking session. The office bearers of our club took charge of their duties by taking oath. The session was so interesting and interactive and got a clear view of our goals. Following that, the office bearers were elected.

GROUP DISCUSSION

Venue: SM Block

Time   : 10 A.M – 12 A.M

On August21^st, Our Department of BCA Students were given individual badges bearing the club name and the department union members were given the badges by our Head of the Department, Mrs.P.Nancy Vincentina Mary bearing their name and their post for President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Joint Secretary. The students was divided into 12 teams and a group discussion was held for choosing the unique name for their groups and each representative from all the groups gave an motivational speech to their teammates for encouraging their participation for the upcoming events that is to be held on the coming club meet.

 

DEBUGGING

Date   :01.09.2017

Venue: SM Block

Time   : 10 A.M – 12 A.M

On sept1^st, Our Department of BCA Students were assembled in front of SM block. The 12 teams had a discussion with the team members and 6 volunteers was selected (i.e.) two members per year in every team. We conducted prelims from C programming for 1^styears, from C++ programming for 2^ndyears and from Web technology for 3^rd years. From that three teams selected and was made to compete with each other from their respective year in debugging in the computer lab. We have selected 2 teams who have scored highest mark. Meanwhile the ILFS students shared their ideas about self -introduction with remaining students and students was made to introduce themselves in front of others to improve their communication skills.

GUEST LECTURE

On 4.11.2017, we had a Guest Lecture in SJ seminar hall. The topic was “ANDROID APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT” and the resource person Mr.Siva, Managing Director and Mr.Saravana, project Manager gave a clear idea of what is android, how to develop an application in android and the usess of android. All the second and third year students attended the session and it was very useful for the third year students to do their project. The session was very interactive and it thought us many new things in android applications.

DEPARTMENT DAY ACTIVITY

On December 21^st,Department of BCA celebrated the “DEPARTMENT DAY” for the first time. Various competitions and events was held on that day to exhibit each and every individual’s special talents. The list of the competitions held are given below,

All the Technical events was held in the forenoon session and Non-Technical events was held in the afternoon session. Judges was invited to judge the students for every events and 1^st, 2nd, 3rd prizes was announced and at the valediction all the prize winners was honoured. As a final event Hashtag for our Department was launched. “POWER OF PRIDE” is our department hashtag.
